Life wins. To devalue life at any level is to eventually devalue life at every level.

As the discussion on legalizing recreational marijuana continues, Michiganders should consider how states that have already made such a move have been affected.
A study released last fall on the effects of the legalizing of recreational marijuana in Colorado and Washington showed that it fell short of expectations of helping the economy of the state, while increasing law enforcement costs. Accidents, injuries and workplace absenteeism related to marijuana use have all increased.
Denver is reporting a 50% increase in homeless individuals seeking shelter. A spokesman for a shelter for younger people indicated that at least one in three residents were in Denver because of the legalization of marijuana.
We must be careful to weigh all the potential repercussions as we discuss the issue of legalizing recreational marijuana. To read the report, click here
